A sad time for the Farenthold family.

Four people who evacuated a home during a SWAT team standoff Monday face third-degree felony charges for suspected possession of controlled substances and weapons.

U.S. Marshals and SWAT team officers assisted police in the search at a home in the 5000 block of Cape Romain Drive after learning drugs and guns might be inside.

The people inside were contacted by phone and later with a megaphone from outside, but remained inside until tear gas canisters were fired into the home.

It's past time to legalize drugs. Take care of the addicted and take the profit out of it.
