Business that exploits undocumented workers wants immigration reform

George Bush pushed 'immigration reform' for his greedy corporate buddies. They wanted cheap labor without rights to protest bad employment conditions. republicans never cared about promoting the general welfare or respecting the dignity of human life. Now that immigration reform is back on the table, expect to see the greedy corporate assholes looking to get cheap labor.
Although immigration reform is largely deemed a federal issue, construction moguls in Texas are confident that amending employment laws here can be a catalyst for nationwide change.

Stan Marek, the president and CEO of the Marek Family of Companies, an interior contracting company that has offices across the state, recently testified before the Texas Workforce Commission in advance of the agency’s final preparations for its legislative agenda on what he said is a rampant problem within the construction industry.

Marek said employers purposely misclassify employees as subcontractors, or “1099” workers — so named because of the federal employment form they fill out — to avoid paying payroll taxes, workers' compensation and overtime, Marek said, but also to avoid knowing their workers’ legal status. He is among the Texas construction company leaders pushing for new legislation to make such actions illegal.
What lovely guys.
