A Flour Bluff assisted living facility and adult day care center has been permanently shut down after the state discovered patients had been abused and neglected.
The case was set to go to trial this month, but the owners of Affordable Quality Care Assisted Living and Adult Loving Care settled a lawsuit in August with the state, which accused both facilities of threatening the health and safety of nearly 55 residents total. As part of the settlement, the owners agreed to close both facilities, pay a $100,000 fine and refrain from ever providing health care services again, except to family, according to court documents.
Makes me think that the owners weren't big republican donors.
