The head of the governing board for Texas’ cancer-fighting agency said Thursday that he wants an investigation into missing emails about an $11 million grant to a Dallas biotechnology firm.
“The present situation is unacceptable,” said Jimmy Mansour, the Oversight Committee chairman of the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas.
Mansour’s comments came a day after CPRIT’s compliance officer said two former high-ranking agency officials and a business expert who reviewed grant applications had written emails about Peloton Biotherapeutics in 2010.
