This is great, if and only if every voter has easy access to a polling location. I worry that republicans will use voting centers in Texas counties as a disenfranchisement tool by putting centers in areas convenient to their voters while making them inconvenient to ours

.County commissioners moved this week to apply for a Texas Secretary of State program that allows Election Day voters to cast ballots at any polling location across the county rather than be forced to travel to their usual neighborhood site.

Modeled after the state’s early voting period, the program introduces “super precincts” or “vote centers” — at high school gymnasiums, fire stations or other community sites — where any Election Day voter can cast ballots.

By doing so, it largely eliminates voters’ confusion about shifting polling locations that can result in them waiting in line to vote — only to find out they are at the wrong site.
