If the federal government can’t fund critical improvements at the Rio Grande Valley’s border crossings, local cities should have the ability to pay for the improvements themselves, U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, said Thursday.
Flanked by local mayors and border boosters at the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge, Cornyn announced he would introduce legislation to allow local governments to pay for infrastructure and staffing at border crossings when the federal government doesn’t have or can’t accept funding.

Typical republican. And, as you may recall, John Cornyn is a rapist enabler, too. Just like the rest of the male republicans in the Senate at the time they voted to enable contractor rape. I am not talking figuratively. I mean real rape. Of real women. This ploy is to make sure really rich people don't have to pay a dime extra.
