Corpus Christi will move forward with a request to amend its state water permit so it can decide whether to sell raw water to companies using it for Eagle Ford Shale oil and gas extraction.
The City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved city staff submitting an amendment request to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for water mining. It's a process that takes about nine months, Corpus Christi Water Director Gus Gonzalez said.
